Wildlife Wonders – an Accessible Experience
Discover Australia’s natural beauty at Wildlife Wonders.
Join a 75-minute guided tour through the magical Otways bushland, where you will discover lush tree-fern gullies, eucalypt woodlands and spectacular ocean vistas. Along the way, you will see Australia’s unique wildlife living in a predator-free, natural environment, including elusive species that are highly unlikely to be spotted in the wild.
Your conservationist guide will share with you the secrets of the bush and the plants and animals who call the Otways home. You will also learn about the ecology of the spectacular Otway Ranges, and the research projects protecting these environments and their inhabitants.
All tours leave from the Visitor Centre, which is single level and has accessible facilities. The tour follows a 1.4km meandering path (compact ground, boardwalk and gravel) with a gentle to moderate gradient which can be managed by wheelchairs and people with limited fitness. Please contact Wildlife Wonders at least 28 hours prior to arrival should you need assistance, so you can be supported to have the most wonderful experience.
The Visitor Centre also houses the Emu Café, the perfect place for coffee and cake or a delicious light lunch, and the gift shop which specialises in locally-crafted products. Visitors don’t need to do a tour to enjoy the cafe and the gift shop, and the Emu Café is dog-friendly!
Can I bring my Service Dog?
Dogs and other assistance animals are most welcome in the outdoor café terrace space and they provide water bowls and there are toileting areas available. Registered assistance animals are also permitted inside the Visitor Centre. For the safety of the wildlife and your assistance animal, assistance animals are not permitted within the Sanctuary due to smaller timid marsupials and other animals that the guides are trying to build confidence in, they cannot have any dogs- not even service dogs. However, they are able to provide a safe environment for assistance animals while their owner is on a tour (please advise staff in advance if you will require this).
Dogs are most welcome in their outdoor café terrace space and we do provide water bowls for them.
Each visit contributes to the environment, with 100% of profits invested in vital research and conservation projects to save threatened species.
