Marlin Coast Diving Accessible Experiences Palm Cove Queensland

Marlin Coast Diving Accessible Experiences Palm Cove Queensland. They specialise in teaching scuba diving/snorkelling to people with physical, mental, or emotional disabilities. They offer a range of courses as well as simply using scuba to assist in rehabilitation. Located in Palm Cove Queensland.

Courses offered are:

Pool Diver – Designed for those individuals who wish to partake in SCUBA activities but cannot or do not wish to venture into the open ocean.

Snorkel Diver – Designed for those individuals who wish to experience the wonders of the open ocean but cannot or do not wish to dive beneath its surface.

Open-Water Diver – Designed for those individuals who wish to obtain a full diver certification. Certified individuals will need to dive with an appropriately trained and certified dive instructor.

Rehabilitation – Bespoke programs, designed around the client’s specific needs, to ensure that physical, mental, or emotional goals are clearly articulated and planned out. Improvements are measured against a set baseline. Course durations depend entirely upon the requirements and objectives of each program.

Health & Wellbeing – An 8-week well-being program consisting of 2 hrs per week, group sessions. Small groups of up to 6 people. Each session builds on the last. The aim is to teach participants an accessible and evidence-based stress management technique together with education and life skills to achieve better mental and physical well-being.

About Richard Stevens, your Diving Instructor:

Richard is an independent dive instructor in Cairns. Marlin Coast focuses on supporting people with impaired physical, psychological, and emotional abilities to enjoy in (and under) water activities.

His Diving Course is suited to Assisted Walking and Independent Wheelchair User category.

Richard trains his students at:

  • Smithfield Public Swimming Pool
  • Lake Barrine
  • 3 boats (Calypso, Passions of Paradise, and Quicksilver Boat and Pontoon)

 

Pricing guide (one on one training):

 

For the pool:  $600 + GST per ½ day (Instructor). Plus: $400 + GST per ½ day (per certified assistant – when required). Kit hire (including cylinders), pool hire.

For the Lake: $1,200 per day + GST (Instructor). Plus: $800 pd + GST pd (per certified assistant – when required). Kit hire (including cylinders), pool hire.

For the boats: $1,200 pd + GST (Instructor) Plus: $800 pd + GST pd (per certified assistant – when required) $Boat fees (varies per boat). Lunch is included.
